Pope Francis is set to make a visit to Sri Lanka from the 13th to the 15th of January. Massive stages have been erected on Galle Face Green (pictured above) where he is set to officiate an open-air mass.
Although the main purpose of his visit is to canonize Joseph Vaz, an important theme he will be touching on will be climate change.
Experts fear that Sri Lanka is among the countries to see displacement and damage to their tourism and fisheries industries due to sea level rises.
Regardless of religion, race or creed, listen closely when he addresses us tomorrow.
He may tell us things we already know, but his saying it, I hope, will inspire, educate and moreover remind us all that we have a long way to go before the effects of climate-change can be controlled or reversed.
...And that we all need to come together on this one.
